One of these in new condition in the original box recently sold for about $143. This one was listed with a "buy it now" price for less than one-third of that. Needless to say, we snatched it up immediately.
It's old school, so there's no fancy 5-point harness. But my Mom's method of using a tea towel keeps the bay-bay sitting up nicely.
The bay-bay likes it too.

Oh my gawd! The chair is cute but the baby in the chair makes it EVEN BETTER! How stink-in adorable!
I must drive up there just to squeeze her and kiss her. Blaghaaaa!
That bay-bay of yours is going to break some hearts some day. She's a looker!!
She seems very happy with her new high chair. Have les chats joined her up there yet? I know Isabelle wouldn't - she's too good to misbehave :)
nutty knitter,
Alright, when ya comin' on up?
claire,
The meow-meows have NOT been up on the chair. . .yet. However, we've had it less than 24 hours. So ask again in a week. Either Isabella is too well behaved, or she is too clumsy. She's is definitely the least graceful jumper of all the felines. But it's probably because she doesn't want to mess up her beautiful coat. :)
Yeah for old school when things were simple and not made exclusively out of cheap plastic! E's such a cute little model!
jody,
Actually, those are pretty much the exact reasons I wanted this type of high chair. I wanted a high chair that could take a beating without breaking, and I didn't want one with upholstery that required constant laundering to keep clean. I'll be able to hose this one off in the shower if necessary!
Okay...mom's t-towel trick...the photo doesn't show it, but did you put one between the front strap and her legs...keeps her from sliding forward.
anonymous,
If you look closely, you can see the towel. It's around her waist and two opposite corners are tied together behind the back of the chair. There is nothing tied to the strap hangs from the tray to the chair. See it now? :)
Jody and Jesse both had an old fashion wooden high chair. The tray was wood and it flipped back or came off for putting it up to the table. It went through about 50 kids and was still going strong when I gave it back. There is something to be said for the sturdiness of the past. things were made to last.
You need to ask mom to scan the picture of you eating rice crispies in the high chair we used to have. I think paired with the pics you have, it would be cute. You can also compare how she looks to you when you were a tater-tot.
